Why Pilates is for everyone!

Our new location-#17-100 Kalamalka Lake Road (Alpine Centre)

Beginner Pilates Process-

Argyll School of Performing Arts and Motion now offers Pilates Process

What makes Pilates Process different from Pilates?

Pilates Process uses Postero-lateral breathing.  This refers to the expansion at the back and sides of the ribcage during inhalation.  This kind of breathing is a very important focus in Pilates as it is essential during abdominal work.
What ways will I benefit from Pilates Process?
            1.         Improved core strength
            2.         Increased mobility
            3.         Long, lean muscle development
            4.         Improved-breathing patterns/capacity
            5.         Improved posture
As well as,
              1.         Breathing
              2.         Pelvic Stability
              3.         Neutral Spinal Alignment
              4.         Fluidity
             5.        Balance
Here is a brief introduction to how Pilates Process was started:
Laura Helsel-Biography
Laura Helsel is the creator and director of the Pilates Process Method.  Originally from White Rock, B.C., she travelled extensively throughout Canada and the USA as a professional ballet and modern dance, eventually settling in Toronto where she taught dance classes.  In 2001, Laura opened her own Pilates studio, working with respected physiotherapists and trained in biomechanics.  After years of training clients with chronic pain, Laura developed a more clinically based therapeutic approach, and that is when Pilates Process was developed.
“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a whole new body
-Joseph Pilates
